About Ashley....
- Ashley was a person who was passionate about many things: faith, family, soccer, and people in need. She always put her faith first, even during her battle with cancer her faith only grew stronger. Ashley deeply valued her relationships with others, even strangers who were in need. One of her favorite sayings was, "Just do what's right."
- On the soccer field, Ashley led her teams to many victories including the Sanderson High School State Soccer Championship in 1991, and UNC Soccer National Championships three years in a row, 1992, 1993 and 1994. The Ashley Riggs Making a Difference Scholarship, is awarded to area youth who work hard and show good character while going through some of life's challenges. This scholarship allows youth to attend week long summer camps of their choosing. Ashley was passionate about creating unique opportunities for young people and our foundation continues her passion!

Making a Difference
- The Ashley Riggs Making a Difference Scholarship is an award given to middle or high school student athletes to provide them with an opportunity to attend a week long, overnight sports or summer camp that they may not otherwise be able to attend, in order to better themselves as an athlete and as a person. The award is given to a student athlete who demonstrates outstanding character, determination and perseverance in spite of challenging family / life or health circumstances.
